Churchfields The Village School, presents our very first 2 km, Family Fun Run fundraiser. Held at Atworth Recreation Ground on Saturday 11th May at 2pm.  All money raised will go to Churchfields The village School, Atworth & Monkton Farleigh. We all love a challenge, so,

Churchfields The Village School is raising funds for two very exciting projects;  Atworth Outdoor Swimming Pool Refurbishment  &  Monkton Farleigh Outdoor Learning Classroom  Both projects have already raised a significant amount of funds, but we need much more if we are to realise our ambitions.

Book Week Monday 27 September to Friday 01 October

Events for the Week are as follows Wednesday 29th September – Bedtime Stories 6-7pm (both bases) All children are invited back into school, wrapped up in their pyjamas, slippers and dressing gown to enjoy a bedtime story read by their teachers and enjoy a hot

KS2 Explore the Village Wednesday 05 May

On Wednesday 5th May, KS2 will be exploring the village aspart of our WOW day for our current geography topic Pleasecould children wear school uniform tops and comfortableshoes and trousers appropriate for walking. A backpack tocarry a drink and a snack will also be needed 

EYFS/KS1 WOW DAY

Wednesday 21 April As you know we are learning all about the exciting lives of dinosaurs, to properly launch our topic we are planning on holding a WOW! day on Wednesday 21 April.  As is tradition we dress up for the occasion and pull out

Primary Science Quality Mark – Gilt Award

Churchfields The Village School has been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark – Gilt Award. (2020-23). Just 160 schools gained the award this year and being awarded additional Gilt status on top makes us all feel extra proud of the achievement. This is a prestigious

New Nursery Opening at Monkton Farleigh

The Lookout Day Nursery and Out of School Club is opening in Monkton Farleigh in April 2020! They will offer full day care for local families with 2-5 year olds, throughout the year.  As well as offer wrap around care for school aged children, with 

KS2 Ukulele Performance

All Key Stage 2 children at Churchfields have been introduced to the ukulele during their music lessons this year. This was made possible with the support of the Pound Arts Centre in Corsham which loaned 24 ukuleles, and the school’s enthusiastic ukulele teacher, Debbie Emberson.

Wow! We were blown away today with all the children who shared their fantastic STEM reading projects from half term in our Science STEM sharing. We had dyed crystals, bath bombs, dinosaur eggs, human body facts, a solar system model, a solar system fact file

Mental Health Awareness Week

Kestrel class used positive thoughts to find their brave and help them to get through difficult times. They talked about how bravery is like a muscle – the more you use it, the better you get.

Vacancy: Temporary full time classteacher opportunity available. Closing date 17 February 2020

We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and flexible temporary full-time classteacher to cover a maternity leave from 1st June 2020 to 31st May 2021 or sooner depending on the incumbent’s return to work.

The position will involve working across both bases , probably in Reception/KS1 from June – July 2020 at Monkton Farleigh then LKS2 from September 2020 – May 2021 at Atworth. This arrangement maybe subject to change depending on the needs of the school however.
