Our 2016/17 results reflect the outcomes of children in year two (Key Stage One) and six (Key Stage Two) who were the second cohorts to sit the assessment tests of the relatively new National Curriculum, introduced in 2014. Outcomes of the year one phonics screening check are also available.
We are extremely proud of our pupils’ achievements under the much more challenging curriculum. High achievement within reading and phonics in particular places the school in an excellent position to make further improvements in other areas which have already begun.
Writing standards at the end of Key Stage Two are teacher assessed. These teacher assessments were checked by Wiltshire Local Authority in 2016/17 and found to be accurate. All other end of Key Stage Two assessments are via Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs) which are carried out under exam conditions and are externally marked.
