One School – Two Sites

Churchfields the Village School opened in 2006, through the amalgamation of Atworth School and Monkton Farleigh C.E. School. In March 2025, the school became part of the Palladian Academy Trust.

We provide primary education for Reception to year six at both bases.

Although we have two bases we are one school, and the staff work hard to ensure continuity of curriculum coverage and equal levels of achievements and standards across both bases. The children are taught and supported by a committed team of teachers that promote quality learning by having high expectations and standards. We believe that it’s important to fully involve parents, and work hard to create a family atmosphere at the school.

We have extensive school grounds which feature two playground areas, ‘wild’ areas, forest school areas and a swimming pool.

The Atworth base has four classrooms, a library, two workrooms and a school hall. The Monkton Farleigh base has two classrooms, a library and a hall. It also hosts an independent nursery school. The school grounds at both bases are well appointed and have a large hard play area and a play trail.

Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard, and banks of laptops are available at both bases for the children to use. We continually assess our ICT capability to make sure that it’s always up to date.
