About the PTA

The Churchfields PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a friendly, informal group that works across the whole of the school community.

“To advance education by encouraging the fullest
co-operation between home and school, education authorities, central
government and all other interested parties and bodies.”

(PTA‐UK Mission Statement)

Everyone with a child at the school or who works on the staff is part of the PTA.

We support the school in its activities through volunteering, organisation, fundraising, and communication. We always ask how can we help the staff achieve the best for the children, and our jobs involve practical and financial assistance for projects, trips, clubs, resources, infrastructure, and the school curriculum. Thankfully, there
are lots of different ways in which parents, family and community members, businesses, and local services can get involved to help Churchfields.

The PTA network meets about once a month, alternately in Atworth and Monkton Farleigh. These meetings are social events as well as discussions about ideas, fundraising, and general schemes to benefit the school.

Volunteering help and offering time is the best way of supporting the school. The PTA appreciates how time is the most valuable commodity, and so any time you can give makes a big difference, whether that’s once a week, once a term or once a year – everything counts.
