Welcome to Churchfields the village school and the wonderful world of EYFS! This is where the magic happens, the beginning of your child’s journey within education. There are two EYFS classes at our wonderful school. Both are taught by two full time teachers and the classes are also supported by two very experienced TA’s. Let’s meet the staff.
Hello there! My name is Maria Genner and I am one of the Early years and Key stage one teachers. I work in Kingfisher class in Atworth. I have been employed at the school since 2001 and I can honestly say it is one of the best places in the world and I just love it here! I was also here as a trainee and just knew that this is where I wanted to be. I have always loved walking into the building and starting a new and creative day. I am incredibly passionate about Early Years education, the well being of the children in our care and their relationships with their peers. This really is where the magic happens! I also like funky dresses, shoes and any opportunity to come into school wearing fancy dress! I promise we will have lots and lots of fun. I have three children of my own Stanley aged 10 Clayton aged 4 and Dotty aged 4 plus two very old gorgeous black cats.
Hello! I’m Carol Burton. I am Kingfisher’s class TA. I have supported Maria and the children in this class for 17 years. We have a fantastic relationship and work incredibly well together. I love being able to work alongside the children, watching them learn and grow. Being part of this journey and observing their progress is so rewarding. We have so much fun together. It is such a joy to be in the classroom where we play and learn all day long. I have two grown up daughters, Sophie and Lucy and two very cuddly, fluffy cats. I can’t wait to meet you all.
Hello! I’m Louise Connelly and I’m the class teacher in Robin class, at Monkton Farleigh. I have been working at Churchfields since 2014, and from the moment I came through the door, I knew this school had something unique about it. I hope you feel the same! Our EYFS and KS1 classroom will be filled with a true celebration of the learning that happens every day. I am passionate about enabling children to learn in the most creative and fun way possible, as well growing in confidence and building meaningful friendships. We are a very happy school! If I had to choose two favourite things in the world, it would be my bookshelf of books and my beautiful black cat. I can’t wait to hear about what is important to each and every one of you.
Hello, I am Mrs Game and I have been working as a Teaching Assistant at Monkton Farleigh school for about four years. We have lots of fun at school learning new and exciting things every day and everybody really likes playing together on our lovely playground and field. I will be here with Miss Connelly to help you get used to things at school and feel safe and happy and to support you with your learning. I enjoy working with children very much, they make me smile, and I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.
