PTA news

Hazelbury Manor Open Gardens

The PTA hosted a ‘Pop Up’ café to serve refreshments to the visitors at Hazelbury Manor, in Box. Our Churchfields community did an awesome job of baking in excess of 30 cakes and treats, which were sold on the day alongside hot and cold drinks. Brisk trade was enjoyed and the time flew by!

On the day, approximately £750 net was raised which was a fantastic result…. a big THANK YOU to all.

Hazelbury PTA event 2016It was also a great opportunity to promote Churchfields to the wider community. A big thank you to Miss Broomhead and Falcons class, who quickly whipped up five large posters a few days before the event, to decorate the venue!

We’ve been invited back next year, which is also great news!

Fundraising at the Monkton Farleigh Summer Fete

This year saw a record number of visitors attend Monkton Farleigh’s Village Fete. The PTA hosted the ice cream and lemonade stall and the team enjoyed a very busy afternoon, with stock running out by 3.45 despite the lack of summer sunshine!

A big thank you to everyone who came along and served ice creams all afternoon, including Mr Futcher and Miss Broomhead – your time and effort is greatly appreciated.

MF Fete June 2016In addition, it was lovely to see Churchfields pupils do the traditional Country Dance followed up with a pretty funky ‘wake and shake’ routine, which got the crowd talking!  The visitors enjoyed watching the kids dance with such energy!

On the day, around £280 net was raised – a good year!

Funds raised from these events will go towards the purchase of either outdoor play equipment or one of our much-loved WOW days, to bring life to the curriculum and support learning engagement.

Thank you again to all!
